The Rev. Dwight McCormick
Denomination: Presbyterian Church (USA) (PCUSA)
Rev. Dwight McCormick is the solo pastor of Northminster Presbyterian Church of Springfield Ohio. He has been in parish ministry for 13 years in the Presbyterian Church USA. When he is not working to keep up with his wife and daughters he enjoys spending time performing as a stand-up comic in churches, comedy clubs, and any venue that has a microphone and a desire to laugh. He is interested in the authentic, often not pretty life of discipleship and how humor informs the way we follow the path of Jesus Christ.

Boston Bombings: I was a stranger and you welcomed me

The bombing yesterday at the Boston Marathon provided an opportunity for many people to rush to do good. I have heard it quoted many times and doubtless will have fellow sisters and brothers blogging on key voices and elsewhere what Rev. Fred Rogers' mother told him to do whenever disaster struck. These are Fred's words: “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” Fred Rogers.
