NEW! Rev. John R. Gunn's "Be Still and Know" Collection

We are pleased to announce that the audio and text resources of the Rev. John R. Gunn's popular "Be Still and Know" radio ministryis now available to you on the Day1 website. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be an extensive section of classic programming, including all the Protestant Hour programs, produced by our predecessor organization, the Protestant Radio & Television Center. (For more information about our archives project, click here.)

In our new John R. Gunn Collection you can listen to dozens of inspiring audio files from the "Be Still and Know" series, as well as a number of text files for study, sermon preparation, and devotional uses.

Rev. Gunn, born in 1877, was a Baptist minister, author and newspaper columnist. He graduated from Mercer University in Macon, and studied at the Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He served churches in Georgia, New York, Tennessee, and Indiana. He died in 1956 at the age of 79. In 1926, the editor of a Fort Wayne newspaper invited Rev. Gunn to write a brief meditation daily for their editorial page--and he did so for 36 years until his death; the column continued for another 15 years. The Presbyterian Church in the U.S. began using his columns as radio scripts for their program called "Be Still and Know," produced by PRTVC and distributed to over 2,000 radio stations throughout the U.S. and overseas in the 1950s and early 1960s.

We are honored to bring this wonderful material to you on Day1.org. Let us know what you think!
